A tragic shooting rampage in a Maine city on Wednesday night has claimed the lives of at least 22 individuals across three different locations, Channel3 has learned.

The active shooter situation unfolded at Schemengees Bar and Grille Restaurant, a Walmart store, and Sparetime Recreation.

In a Facebook update, the Maine State Police reported an ongoing active shooting incident in Lewiston, a city with a population of 36,000 located 35 miles north of Portland.

The Central Maine Medical Center, a local hospital, confirmed their response to a “mass casualty, mass shooter event.”

As of 9 p.m., they stated they were unable to provide specific details regarding the number of casualties.

The Maine State Police are intensively searching for Robert Card in relation to the mass shooting incidents at Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant and the Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston, Maine. Robert Card, born on 04/04/1983, has his last known address at 941 Meadow Road, Bowdoin, Maine.

Robert Card is identified as a certified firearms instructor, reportedly associated with the Army Reserve in Saco, ME. Recent disclosures indicate that Card has been contending with mental health issues, including auditory hallucinations and making threats directed at the National Guard Base in Saco, ME.

It has also been revealed that in the summer of 2023, Card was admitted to a mental health facility for a two-week stay before his release.

In terms of his whereabouts, the last known sighting placed Card driving a white Subaru Outback, registered in Maine under the license plate 9246PD.

This vehicle is distinct due to its black bumper. The public is strongly advised to exercise extreme caution as Robert Card is considered armed and potentially hazardous.

If Card or the described vehicle are spotted, individuals are urged not to engage but to immediately notify law enforcement agencies.

The hospital stated that Central Maine Healthcare is working in conjunction with neighboring hospitals to admit patients.

Additionally, the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office released two images of the suspect, who was seen donning a brown sweatshirt and holding a rifle.
