Country music star Toby Keith dies after battle with cancer, aged 62

Country singer Toby Keith, renowned for his hit “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” passed away on Monday at the age of 62.

According to an official statement from his X account on Tuesday, he “peacefully passed away” on Monday night.

In June 2022, the singer of “Red Solo Cup” disclosed his diagnosis of stomach cancer and his treatment regimen involving chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

The statement released on Tuesday remarked on his valiant battle with grace and courage and urged the public to respect his family’s privacy during this period.

His death was confirmed by a representative to Channel3 NOW.
