Benji Gregory, known for his role on the sitcom “Alf,” was recently reported to have been found in his car at a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona on June 13th.

However, details about the situation are unclear at this time.

Actor Benji Gregory, known for his role on the sitcom ‘Alf,’ was reportedly found unresponsive in his car at a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona on June 13th.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the date but has yet to determine the cause of death.

Gregory’s sister, Rebecca, shared that he battled depression, bipolar disorder, and a sleep disorder. According to those close to him, he may have visited the bank to deposit checks on the 12th, fallen asleep in his car, and become incapacitated due to Arizona’s summer heat. Sadly, his service dog, Hans, was also found deceased in the vehicle.

In the wake of this news, Rebecca expressed the family’s deep grief and appreciation for the outpouring of support. She suggested donations in Benji’s memory to The Actors Equity Foundation or the ASPCA, causes she believes he would have championed.

Gregory achieved fame portraying Brian Tanner on ‘Alf’ for 101 episodes between 1986 and 1990. After a few subsequent acting roles, he transitioned out of entertainment in 2003 to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He later graduated as an aerographer’s mate before receiving an honorable medical discharge in 2005.
