6 killed including suspect in Westfield Bondi Junction mall attack near Sydney

The Prime Minister received a briefing following a tragic incident where six individuals lost their lives in a knife attack and shooting.

Federal authorities have confirmed that five victims succumbed to injuries sustained in the knife attack at Bondi Junction.

However, they have been unable to identify a primary assailant, who was fatally shot by NSW Police at the Westfield shopping center.

In addition to the six fatalities, eight others sustained injuries including a 9-month-old baby, with one individual in critical condition.

While authorities are conducting a search for a possible second assailant, uncertainty remains regarding the involvement of a second individual in the attack.

Initial reports indicate the involvement of only one attacker.
