A male security guard is hospitalized with severe injuries after a shooting incident outside rapper Drake’s residence in The Bridle Path.

Emergency services responded to Park Lane Circle, near Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East, shortly after 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

The victim, a male, sustained serious yet non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Duty Inspector Paul Krawczyk stated that the security guard was stationed outside Drake’s residence at the gate when an individual in a vehicle passed by and began firing shots.

At present, no descriptions of the suspect or the vehicle involved have been provided.

Inspector Krawczyk mentioned uncertainty regarding Drake’s presence at the time of the incident, but assured that his team is collaborating with the investigation.

Toronto police have acquired video footage of the shooting for review.

Concurrently, Drake finds himself embroiled in a public dispute with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The exchange between them has escalated to a daily release of songs, including a series of diss tracks targeting each other.

In Lamar’s latest release, “Not Like Us,” he uses a Google Maps image of Drake’s Bridle Path mansion as the cover art.

Drake countered with his own track, “THE HEART PART 6,” which he posted on YouTube.

Inspector Krawczyk refrained from speculating on a motive for the shooting but acknowledged the possibility of engaging with U.S. investigators regarding the incident.
