The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Travis Posey from New Edinburg, was apprehended by law enforcement after a shootout.
A spokesman for the department confirmed that 14 people were shot, including 11 civilians, 2 police officers and the suspect.
She was a nurse at the Dallas County Medical Center and leaves behind a 10-month-old daughter.
