Update: As per an alert from campus police, the emergency situation involving an active shooter at UNC Pembroke in Robeson County has been declared resolved.

Sources on-site informed Channel3 NOW that a gunshot victim arrived at a church across the street from the school, and authorities are still in the process of confirming the location of the shooting.

Multiple community members and students have reported that police are addressing an urgent situation Wednesday evening at UNC Pembroke in Robeson County.

They’ve shared the following alert message from the university:

Alert:UNC Pembroke emergency notification. Active shooter. University Courtyard apartments.

Currently, UNCP Public Information Officer Mark Locklear stated that they are actively working to gather more information.

No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
