23-year-old Billy Chaplin killed in Peoria shooting
An autopsy on Chaplin is scheduled for tomorrow, September 1, 2023.
On August 31, 2023, at approximately 9:04 A.M., the Peoria Police Department, Peoria Fire Department, and Advanced Medical Transport were called to the 2100 block of W. Antoinette for a male who had been shot.
That male, 23-year-old Billy Chaplin, of West Wiswall Street, Peoria, was transported to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria unresponsive, not breathing, and with no pulse.
Despite aggressive resuscitative efforts and intervention, he was pronounced deceased at OSF in the trauma room at 9:43 A.M.
His death is being investigated as a homicide and remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department and the Peoria County Coroner’s office.
