On Friday, the Lubbock Police Department apprehended a 16-year-old individual who stands accused of murder in relation to the passing of 32-year-old Adrian Davila.

LPD responded to a call in the vicinity of North Loop 289 and Interstate 27 on Wednesday, initially reported as a hit-and-run incident with injuries.

However, upon further investigation, LPD determined that Davila’s injuries were indicative of a shooting.

Initially summoned to North Loop and Interstate 27 at 3:25 a.m. on May 8th, Lubbock Police responded to what was initially reported as a hit-and-run incident causing injuries.

This led to an immediate response and inquiry by the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit.

However, following an initial examination, suspicions arose regarding the nature of Davila’s injuries, leading to the involvement of the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Davila’s injuries were consistent with those caused by a shooting rather than a hit-and-run incident.

Consequently, the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit took charge of the investigation.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
