Student with loaded gun arrested at Oak Hills High School

Update: Today, Oak Hills High School administration was informed of a student potentially having a firearm in their possession.

In response, OHHS collaborated promptly with HUSD School Police and the District Office to initiate a lockdown and apprehend the student.

Both law enforcement and administration swiftly located and detained the student, and a loaded firearm was recovered on campus.

Following a brief period, OHHS administration received authorization from law enforcement to lift the lockdown.

Thankfully, all students are unharmed, and there were no injuries reported.

However, the District is unable to provide further details regarding the investigation as it remains an ongoing law enforcement matter.

Hesperia Unified School District police were called to respond to an “incident” at Oak Hills High School on Tuesday afternoon, as authorities revealed.

Though unconfirmed reports suggested a potential shooting on campus, a number of parents who reached out to us via calls and emails mentioned hearing about an active shooter situation at the school located on Cataba Road, less than 2 miles east of the 15 Freeway.

However, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated that they had no knowledge of a shooting on the premises, clarifying that the law enforcement response at the scene was being managed by School District police.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that a fight involving four students occurred at Oak Hills High School.

It is alleged that at least one of the students was in possession of a gun and has been apprehended.

Authorities are currently searching for the remaining three individuals involved.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
