Suspect in custody after shooting at Elko Peace Park
Authorities have assured that there is no imminent threat to the community.
Elko Police are currently conducting an investigation at Elko Peace Park, where an alleged homicide suspect was apprehended around 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, April 18th.
Gunshots were discharged during the incident.
As a precautionary measure, area schools and the Great Basin College campus were placed on lockdown for approximately half an hour while law enforcement secured the area.
Authorities have assured that there is no imminent threat to the community.
The injured suspect has been transported to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital for treatment.
