A suspected gunman has been apprehended after reportedly firing shots from the rooftop of a Marina del Rey apartment building, triggering an active-shooter response.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) received a shooting report from the Marina 41 Apartments located in the 4100 block of Via Marina around 10:15 p.m.

LASD stated that the suspect was indiscriminately firing from the rooftop of the apartment building.

Police were informed by witnesses that the shooter discharged approximately 30 to 50 or more rounds and was equipped with multiple firearms, including AR-15 rifles, several pistols, and ammunition.
