Boston police have initiated a lockdown at multiple schools in East Boston following a report of an individual with a rifle on Wednesday.

The schools are in safe mode as a precaution while authorities investigate the report, which indicated a person with a rifle was seen in the vicinity of Leyden Street.

A witness reported observing a male individual carrying a long gun. The witness described him as a white male with a facial tattoo, and police are currently interviewing this witness, considering him to be credible. The individual was reportedly wearing all black attire.
