Brother Jeremiah Abreu Arrested in Fatal Brockton Shooting of Sedrick Abreu

Update: This afternoon, the Lewiston Police Department (CRU, CRO, CID & Patrol) along with the United States Marshals Service and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office located 20yo, Jeremiah ABREU, of Brockton MA, after a coordinated traffic stop on Pleasant St.

ABREU is wanted out of Brockton (MA) for a homicide that occurred this past weekend.

ABREU was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail where he will await extradition. Also, in the vehicle was a male subject who refused to identify himself.

The unidentified male was in possession of a firearm and was transported to the station for identification.

With the use of fingerprint analysis, the male was identified as 22yo, Dominic Peterson, also from Brockton.

Authorities are searching for Jeremiah Abreu, 20, suspected of fatally shooting his older brother, 27-year-old Sedrick Abreu, at a residence in Brockton, Massachusetts, on Easter Sunday.

The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office reported that the incident occurred at a home on Hoover Avenue.

Two other individuals, Sirick Amado, 24, and Antonio Dejesus, 26, were apprehended at the scene on Sunday.

They are accused of being accessories to the homicide and were scheduled to appear in Brockton District Court on Monday.

The shooting occurred around 2:17 a.m. at a residence on Hoover Avenue. Upon police arrival, they discovered the elder Abreu with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities do not suspect the shooting to be a random act of violence.
