A 17-year-old male has died and two others have sustained injuries following a shooting in west Phoenix on Monday.

Phoenix police officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex near 45th Avenue and Thomas Road just after 2 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a man, identified as a suspect, with a gunshot wound in the middle of the complex.

Police stated that he was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

In a neighboring apartment, a juvenile girl and a juvenile boy were discovered with gunshot wounds.

The girl, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to a hospital for injuries deemed non-life-threatening by police.

Tragically, the boy, identified as 17-year-old Arlandis West Jr., succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Investigators suspect that the shooting originated from the man confronting West Jr. regarding a disagreement.

This altercation escalated into a physical fight, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.

Police are currently investigating whether the girl sustained injuries from gunfire discharged by the suspect or the other victim.

Upon the suspect’s discharge from the hospital, authorities plan to arrest him and press multiple charges.

However, the suspect’s identity has not been disclosed, and no additional details have been provided.
