Video shows Amazon van split in half by train

A few years back, an Amazon delivery van experienced a dramatic mishap when it was split in half on a railroad track.

The scene was quite astonishing at the time, but recent footage reveals an even more remarkable incident.

Channel3 NOW has obtained new video footage from a November 2021 accident near Milwaukee. In the video, a driver is seen traveling along a rural road when, inadvertently, they cross a railroad crossing.

Unbeknownst to them, an Amtrak train is approaching, unseen and unheard.

The driver, identified as Alexander Evans, miraculously survived the collision, which resulted in his vehicle being completely bisected into two large pieces.

It’s truly astonishing that Evans emerged from this ordeal with relatively minor injuries, especially when you consider the perspective from inside the van, which we obtained in the footage.

Viewing the incident from Evans’ point of view adds another layer of intensity to the already unbelievable situation.

In the footage, Evans can be seen driving calmly along the road, seemingly unaware of the oncoming danger. As he makes a left turn to cross the tracks, the train suddenly appears and collides with his van.

The impact jolts Evans inside the vehicle, but remarkably, he manages to maintain his composure. After the initial shock, he begins to unbuckle himself, appearing to be relatively unharmed.

Evans was later taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, but fortunately, he sustained only minor injuries.
