No injuries reported after shooting at Wright State University, one in custody

A person is now in custody following a reported shooting at Wright State University on Monday, as confirmed by a university spokesperson.

Shortly after 7 p.m., a Wright State Alert indicated that university police were addressing a shooting incident at Cedar Hall on the Dayton Campus.

The spokesperson mentioned that multiple shots were discharged at the residence hall, though it remains unclear whether the gunfire occurred inside or outside the building.

The communication emphasized that this did not constitute an active shooter situation but urged students to steer clear of the building.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the shooting. Wright State police issued an all-clear at 7:24 p.m.

The university has made counseling services available for the evening and the following day.
