Authorities report that a 17-year-old boy succumbed to gunshot wounds on Tuesday night in the East Valley, near Ocotillo and Gantzel roads.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Cambria neighborhood in San Tan Valley shortly after 5 p.m., as per the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

Prior to the shooting, two teenagers were engaged in a verbal dispute. Subsequently, the victim, identified as 17-year-old Jamiere Jenkins, was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have verified that Jenkins was a student at Combs High School.

Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is apprehended, ensuring there is no threat to the community.

The suspect remains unidentified at this stage.

Although a suspect is in custody, PCSO Sheriff Mark Lamb has mentioned that officials are actively seeking a blue Dodge Charger in which the suspect fled.

This incident marked the first of two fatal shootings involving young victims within a few hours on Tuesday night.
