Dead person found at Kathleen & Tim Harney Middle School in Las Vegas
At this time, it remains unclear whether the deceased individual has any affiliation with the school or if their identity has been established.
Due to an ongoing police investigation into a deceased individual found on the campus, students from an east Las Vegas school have been temporarily relocated for the day.
It has been confirmed that the deceased person was discovered at Kathleen & Tim Harney Middle School in east Las Vegas.
Preliminary information suggests that the individual was located on the school’s softball field. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the school at approximately 6:20 a.m.
In light of the ongoing investigation into the individual found on the campus, students have been relocated to Las Vegas High School, situated to the south of Harney Middle School.
The LVMPD Homicide section is overseeing the inquiry. At this time, it remains unclear whether the deceased individual has any affiliation with the school or if their identity has been established.
Coordination for the release of the relocated students by school officials is still pending. In a statement, CCSD reassured that there is no imminent threat to the school or its students.
