21-year-old Jandriel Heredia has died. He was one of seven people that were shot on Essex Street, in Lynn early Saturday morning.

Tragically, two individuals have lost their lives, and several others have sustained injuries in a shooting incident that occurred overnight in Lynn.

Authorities were alerted to the incident by a report of multiple gunshots fired at 189 Essex Street. Upon reaching the scene, the police discovered seven victims who had suffered gunshot wounds.

According to District Attorney Tucker, one person has succumbed to their injuries, while two others are in critical condition. Four additional individuals have been transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

β€œThis horrendous act of violence has impacted the family of the victims, the neighborhood, and the entire city,” said DA Tucker. β€œWe will expand every resource in pursuit of justice and holding that responsible to be accountable for perpetrating this violence.”

Relatives informed Channel3 News that the individual who lost his life was Abraham Diaz, a 25-year-old.

A childhood friend of Diaz arrived to pay his respects and told us that Diaz was a β€œhighly regarded and respected young member of the community.”

Brian Diaz, the victim’s brother, shared his thoughts, saying, β€œI never expected to receive that phone call, but it’s the reality we have to face. He was a remarkable individual, and he also played with the Boston Spartans. He was an exceptional basketball player. We’re still trying to come to terms with it.”
