Man accused of murdering 35-year-old Callie Brunett and her daughter is now in custody

UPDATE: 36-year-old Daniel Callihan was located and taken into custody late this afternoon in Jackson, MS.

Callihan is accused of committing brutal and heinous acts of violence, including the murders of 35-year-old Loranger resident Callie Brunett and her four-year-old daughter, Erin.

Victoria Cox from Loranger, Louisiana, is a suspected accomplice in a kidnapping case.

The 32-year-old is facing potential capital murder charges or charges as an accessory after the fact. She was apprehended by JPD at the Oyo Hotel in Jackson.

Authorities are searching for two children after discovering their mother dead in Loranger early Thursday morning (June 13).

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that 35-year-old Callie Brunett had been missing for over 24 hours before being found dead in her home on N. Cooper Road.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Her two young children, 6-year-old Jalie and 4-year-old Erin, are “unaccounted for,” according to Sheriff Daniel Edwards.

Detectives urge anyone with information about their whereabouts to call 911 immediately.

Authorities are searching for two missing children and their vehicle.

The children are believed to be traveling in a black 2012 Chrysler 200 with Louisiana license plate 859GML.
