Four Cornell College instructors are recovering after being stabbed during a visit to a Beishan Park at Jilin City in China.

All four are receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.

According to one victim’s family, all four survived the attack.

The stabbing involved four U.S. citizens from Iowa who were visiting as part of a partnership with Beihua University.

Since 2018, Cornell College and Beihua University in Jilin have had an active partnership, with Beihua funding Cornell instructors to travel to China and teach during a two-week period.

Over the weekend, faculty from both institutions were attacked while visiting a public park in Jilin City.

No Cornell College students were involved in the program.

U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks stated that her office is collaborating with the U.S. Embassy to ensure the victims receive medical care and return safely to the United States.
