A tragic crash on Houston’s southside claimed a woman’s life early Tuesday morning.

Police report that a driver disregarded a red light at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and SH-288 just past 11 pm on Monday.

The collision caused a white SUV to overturn, trapping a car underneath it.

Images from the scene depict the mangled white SUV on its side, its roof crushed against a pole, with a black sedan wedged beneath it.

The driver of the white SUV, later identified as Dyeryca Walls, died in the crash.

A passenger in her vehicle sustained injuries but is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Another driver, a man, was also transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Though investigators suspect a red light violation caused the accident, they haven’t determined the at-fault driver at this time.
