18-year old Trenton Jackson shot and killed in Jacksonville

Murder arrest warrant issued for 18- year-old Larry W. Taylor of Jacksonville in connection with the shooting.

On Thursday, June 6, 2024, at approximately 8:13 p.m., Jacksonville Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of West College Ave.

Upon arrival officers located an eighteen-year-old male victim who had suffered injuries consistent with gunshots.

The victim was transported to Jacksonville Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to those injuries and died.

The scene was secured and the Jacksonville Police Department, along with the Morgan County Coroner’s Office and the Morgan County States Attorney’s Office are investigating.

On Friday June 7, 2024 the Jacksonville Police in coordination with the Morgan County State’s Attorney’s Office received a First Degree Murder arrest warrant for eighteen- year-old Larry W. Taylor of Jacksonville in connection with the shooting death of Trenton D. Jackson.

Taylor has not been arrested at the time of this report.
