A 16-year-old is being charged as an adult with murder, accused of shooting a 15-year-old in Griffin, Georgia.

According to the City of Griffin Police Department, the shooting occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 1100 block of Poplar Street.

The 15-year-old victim was initially taken to Wellstar before being transferred to Atlanta, where he succumbed to his gunshot wound.

The 16-year-old suspect has not been identified, and no motive has been released.

The victim’s identity has also not been disclosed.
