36-Year-Old Mother Ashley Parmeley Charged After Fatally Shooting Her 9-Year-Old Daughter Scarlet and Drowning Her 2-Year-Old Son Isaac in Festus
The 9-year-old girl has been identified as Scarlet Parmeley and 2-year-old boy has been identified as Isaac Parmeley.
On May 28, 2024, a 36-year-old Missouri woman named Ashley Parmeley walked into a police station and confessed to fatally shooting her daughter and drowning her son.
Officers found a 9-year-old girl dead in the backseat of Parmeley’s car, which was parked outside the Festus police station where she surrendered.
Additionally, a 2-year-old boy was discovered dead in a fountain outside a resort near Festus, Missouri.
The 9-year-old girl has been identified as Scarlet Parmeley and 2-year-old boy has been identified as Isaac Parmeley.
Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak confirmed that officers searched for a third child, who was found safe.
Ashley Parmeley was arrested, and the deaths are being investigated as homicides.
She is charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
Currently, Parmeley faces charges only in connection with her son’s death, but the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office plans to request that prosecutors in St. Francois County charge her in connection with her daughter’s death as well.
Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive.
Ashley Parmeley’s uncle, Max Parmeley, murdered his parents by bludgeoning them to death with a hammer. Subsequently, Ashley went on to brutally murder her own children.
