No active shooter at Bristol Regional Medical Center

No injury to any patient, team member or visitor took place during the incident.

Earlier this evening, Bristol Tennessee Police Department responded to calls at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

A gun was discharged by a patient amid a security incident.

There was no active shooter on the premises; however, in the utmost caution, an active shooter incident was called, and a lockdown was enforced to ensure the security of team members, patients and visitors.

No injury to any patient, team member or visitor took place during the incident.

The security threat has been neutralized, and the hospital is secure.

The lockdown has been lifted; however, a continued police presence will continue through the evening.
