Matthew Torres dead after shooting in northwest Austin

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in an unincorporated area of northwest Austin on Friday night.

Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 9800 block of Copper Creek Drive around 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is treating the case as a homicide.

The victim has been identified as Matthew Torres.
