2 killed, 13 injured after hit-and-run accident by drunk driver in Watertown Township

Two people have died in a hit-and-run accident in Watertown Township, near Wacousta and Corrison Roads.

The collision occurred in the vicinity of Wacousta and Corrison Roads.

According to the Clinton County Sheriffs, a group of 15 individuals were walking on the shoulder of the road en route to their grandparents’ residence when they were struck by a 35-year-old female driver from the Perrinton area.

The Clinton County Sheriff reported that two adults were declared deceased at the scene, while 13 others were transported to the hospital with injuries ranging from life-threatening to minor.

Law enforcement stated that the woman who hit the group fled the scene but was apprehended by Deputies several miles away and taken into custody.

Authorities suspect alcohol involvement in the incident.
