A Davenport mother faces accusations of committing a horrific murder involving her young son.

During a news conference on Wednesday, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd outlined the abuse endured by 4-year-old Bryan Boyer, allegedly inflicted by his mother.

Patricia Saintizaire, aged 36, who immigrated from Haiti with the child she considered “unwanted,” is alleged to have subjected him to prolonged physical abuse and neglect, as detailed by Judd.

Saintizaire stands accused of tying the child’s arms behind his back and throwing him into a swimming pool.

On May 1, Bryan’s 16-year-old brother, who was adopted from Haiti, noticed that the 4-year-old was lethargic and sensed that something was amiss.

He urged his mother to take the boy to the hospital, but Saintizaire dismissed his concerns, attributing the child’s condition to mere dramatic behavior.

Bryan was eventually brought to a Haines City hospital, where he tragically passed away.

The medical examiner’s report revealed evidence of prolonged abuse, indicating “layers of bruises and injuries” from previous assaults, as noted by PCSO.

“He’s in the arms of God now,” Judd remarked. “He is no longer subjected to beatings, punches, or being tied up and thrown into a pool.”

Judd stated that detectives uncovered footage of the pool incident and another video capturing Bryan lying face-down while his mother allegedly assaulted him on the back.

Judd described Bryan as simply enduring the abuse “as if it were a regular event.”

Saintizaire has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and witness tampering.

Her initial court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday.

At the time of the incident, the boy’s father was at work, and the 16-year-old sibling is currently under protective custody. The investigation remains ongoing.
