2 injured in shooting at Glenbrook Square Mall, 1 in custody another at large

The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) reported that they were called to respond to a shooting incident at Glenbrook Square Mall on Saturday afternoon.

According to FWPD, they received the call regarding the shooting at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Initial findings from the investigation suggest that the shooting took place within Glenbrook Square Mall. It is suspected that two men were armed while inside the mall’s food court, with one of them firing a weapon.

Two individuals were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

One person is believed to have sustained a gunshot wound to a lower extremity, while another individual may have suffered a lower extremity fracture due to the reaction of people to the shooting.

According to FWPD, 22-year-old Randon D. Key, Jr. has been taken into custody on charges including criminal recklessness, intimidation, and resisting law enforcement.

However, the primary suspect involved in the shooting is still at large.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, conducted jointly by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
