3-year-old Ty’ah Settles killed in Southeast DC shooting

The 3-year-old girl tragically killed in a shooting incident Friday night in a Southeast, D.C. neighborhood has been named.

The victim, identified as 3-year-old Ty’ah Settles from Southeast, D.C., lost her life in the incident.

Authorities are actively investigating the fatal shooting that claimed Settles’ life.

The Metropolitan Police Department rushed to the scene in the vicinity of the 2400 block of Irving Street, Southeast, following reports of gunfire around 9:10 p.m.

Soon after, a 3-year-old girl was discovered at a nearby fire station on Irving Street, Southeast, in the 2400 block, with a gunshot wound.

MPD Officers and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel provided immediate medical assistance to the child until she was airlifted by the United States Park Police to a nearby hospital.

Despite all attempts to save her life, she was pronounced dead.

The investigation into this tragic incident is still ongoing.
