Three individuals have sustained injuries in a “significant stabbing incident” at a school in West Wales.

Dyfed Powys Police have confirmed a teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two teachers and a pupil were stabbed at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Carmarthenshire this morning.

Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Carmarthenshire has been shut down while authorities conduct investigations into the reported stabbing on Wednesday, as stated by Dyfed-Powys Police.

A member of the school’s governing body, who also serves as a local councillor, stated that she had been informed about the incident, which reportedly involved a stabbing.

Those injured are reportedly receiving medical treatment. One individual has been apprehended, and authorities have stated that they are not seeking any other suspects related to the incident.

Emergency services continue to be present at the scene, with the police emphasizing their close collaboration with the school and Carmarthenshire County Council.

Following a lockdown since approximately 11 a.m., students were released from the school around 3:20 p.m.

A representative stated, “We are aware of the footage circulating on social media depicting the incident. We urge individuals to remove this content to prevent potential contempt of court and distress to those affected.”

Authorities have urged the public not to engage in speculation while the investigation remains ongoing. A spokesperson for Ysgol Dyffryn Aman mentioned that the family members of the injured parties have been notified.

“We wish to assure parents and the community that the situation has been contained,” they affirmed.

The comprehensive school, located in Ammanford, has approximately 2,000 students. However, police did not disclose the ages of those injured or the individual who has been apprehended.
