19-Year-Old Amunique Cavitt Arrested in Connection with Shooting Death of 34-Year-Old Norman Carter III

A 19-year-old woman has been taken into custody for murder in connection with the shooting death of a 34-year-old man in Wichita on Tuesday.

Records from the Sedgwick County Jail indicate that Amunique Cavitt was arrested on Tuesday evening for first-degree murder and is currently being held without bond as of Wednesday morning.

Wichita police were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of North Minnesota, east of 13th and I-135, at approximately 12:15 p.m. in response to reports of a shooting.

According to authorities, 34-year-old Norman Carter III sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
