Two Montgomery County high schools received police attention due to reported threats on Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, Wootton High School in Rockville was placed under a shelter-in-place at 10:34 a.m., while Albert Einstein High School in Kensington was evacuated following significant threats.

By 11:07 a.m., the lockdown at Wootton High School was lifted as the threat was determined to be non-credible.

Shortly after, around 11:30 a.m., students at Einstein High School were observed returning to the premises.

Shortly before that, Anne Arundel County police disclosed threats directed at Severna Park High School and Middle School.

By 11:10 a.m., authorities determined these threats to be non-credible.

Wootton High School had recently experienced heightened police activity due to a student, who had been absent from in-person classes since 2022, allegedly composing threats of a mass shooting in a written manifesto.

The student involved in that situation was apprehended away from the campus and is currently detained without bond.
