39-year-old Omar Hakim killed in New Castle shooting, suspect Angelina Masi-Carlucci in custody
She is accused of conspiracy to commit homicide.
On the evening of Monday April 22, 2024, Angelina Masi (Carlucci) was taken into custody for Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Homicide pertaining to the investigation into the shooting death of Omar Javarty Hakim that occurred on the evening of Sunday April 21, 2024.
Authorities discovered the body of Omar Hakim inside an SUV close to the intersection of East Moody Avenue and Carlisle Street on Sunday.
Investigators suspect that multiple gunshots were discharged from outside the vehicle, with at least one shot originating from within.
Through the still ongoing investigation, New Castle Police Criminal Investigators have been able to speak to numerous witnesses and view numerous videos of the scene and surrounding areas that have led to the belief that Masi transported the suspected shooter to the area of the homicide minutes prior to the shooting.
On Tuesday April 23, 2024, Masi was arraigned by Magistrate Melissa Amodie, processed, and placed into Lawrence County Jail without bond.
