Friday afternoon outside Manhattan Criminal Court, a man set himself on fire while former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial was ongoing.

This startling event occurred in a barricaded park adjacent to the 100 Centre Street courthouse around 1:30 p.m., coinciding with the finalization of the jury for the significant case.

Approximately 20 minutes later, a police officer was heard commenting at the scene, “Somebody set themselves on fire,” as ashes lingered on the ground following the incident.

Troubling video depicted him seated, fully engulfed in flames, followed by his charred body twitching on the ground as bystanders hurriedly approached with fire extinguishers.

It remained unclear what method or device was employed to initiate the fire.

Emergency responders promptly transported the man to a hospital, although his condition was not immediately discernible.
