Arrests Made Following Active Shooter Report on Market Street in Wilmington, Firearm Recovered

Wilmington police were dispatched to a reported active shooter situation in the 3600 block of Market Street, close to Coastal Suites, on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency responders have established a perimeter, and two individuals have been apprehended.

Police report the recovery of two firearms, and fortunately, there are no reported injuries at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Initially, the Child Development Center on Princess Place Dr. was put under a shelter-in-place directive, but it has since been lifted.
