Grand Forks Air Force Base on lockdown after shot fired near the medical clinic and base exchange

Update: Around 1 p.m. local time, security forces at Grand Forks Air Force Base were alerted to a single gunshot near the medical clinic and base exchange.

As a precautionary measure, they initiated a lockdown to address the situation.

As of 2:30 p.m., there have been no reported injuries, and law enforcement continues to conduct thorough door-to-door sweeps.

A number of different law enforcement organizations are reacting to reports of an active shooter at Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks County, North Dakota.

All base personnel implement LOCKDOWN procedures and immediately take shelter. 

Police officers are currently at the scene conducting an investigation.

As at the time of this report, there has been neither confirmation nor identification of any victims.

No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.
