Rideshare passenger 23-year-old Dontius Wilson killed in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood

A 23-year-old man, traveling in a rideshare, tragically lost his life early Wednesday in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on West 69th Street, where an unidentified assailant in a dark-colored sedan opened fire on the vehicle, as reported by the authorities.

Police reported that the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was subsequently taken by paramedics to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man, identified as Dontius M. Wilson by the Cook County Medical Examiner, did not survive the attack.

Authorities have not yet apprehended any suspects, and investigations are being conducted by Area One detectives.
