According to law enforcement, around 3:30 a.m., a dispute occurred at the Martini Bar within CityPlace Doral, prompting a security guard to intervene.
It was during this confrontation that the assailant produced a firearm and fatally shot the security guard.
Video footage depicted multiple police officers arriving at the scene with lights and sirens activated.
One officer from the City of Doral suffered a gunshot wound to the lower extremity but has since been discharged from the hospital.
He was reported to be one of two Doral officers who discharged their firearms during the incident.
