At least 2 injured in shooting at Pearland’s Jack in the Box
Suspected suspect Keon Vonord Mitchell in custody!
At approximately 9:12 PM tonight, Pearland officers responded to an incident at the Jack in the Box located at 1521 Broadway, where two individuals had sustained gunshot wounds.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed the injuries of the two victims and immediately provided aid. They were subsequently transported to medical facilities with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Based on preliminary investigation, which is still in its early stages, it appears that a disturbance occurred between two males inside the Jack in the Box.
Subsequently, a firearm was produced, leading to a struggle over the weapon resulting in a discharge. One round struck one of the men involved and another person present at the scene.
The male believed to have possessed the firearm reportedly fled the scene, but witnesses provided accounts leading to the prompt detention of the individual by patrolling officers.
Keon Vonord Mitchell, aged 30, has been apprehended in relation to a shooting.

Authorities are currently working to determine the extent of the detained person’s involvement in the shooting and are considering appropriate charges.
