A teenager has tragically lost their life, and several parked cars bear the marks of bullet impacts following a shooting incident in southeast Reading.

The fatal shooting occurred on Monday night in the vicinity of the 1300 block of Muhlenberg Street, close to South 14th Street.

According to Berks County District Attorney John Adams, the Reading Police Department responded to the scene and remained vigilant in monitoring the situation. During their presence in the area, they discovered a victim.

Adams emphasizes that it’s premature to determine the motive behind the gunfire. He stated, “The criminal investigation division of the Reading Police Department is actively pursuing leads in this case.”

Police have identified the victim as 19-year-old Christian Disla.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue their efforts to apprehend the perpetrator or perpetrators.

Disla was fatally wounded by gunfire and declared dead at the scene,” Adams stated. “This incident likely underscores the issue of youth violence, which unfortunately is all too common.”

Residents informed 69 News that they heard multiple gunshots, followed by a speeding car shortly afterward.

Numerous vehicles parked on the street were struck by bullets, with one having its window shattered and another sustaining significant damage requiring towing.
