36-year-old Johnny Bermea, 33-year-old Jeremy Bermea killed in Central Lubbock Easter Sunday shooting

Update: Lubbock Police Department reported the arrest of Johnny Bermea, Jr., aged 19, Erica Jimenez, aged 36, and Henry Bermea, aged 37, on Wednesday.

They were apprehended in connection with a shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two men on Easter Sunday in the 1900 block of 36th Street.

Johnny Bermea, Jr. faced charges of Aggravated Assault, while Henry and Jimenez were charged with Abandoning or Endangering a Child.

According to LPD, the trio was apprehended by the Texas Anti-Gang Center in the 900 block of Tulane Street shortly after 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday.

They were subsequently transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center and each assigned a $300,000 bond.

The Lubbock Police Department has released the identities of the two deceased individuals and the one critically injured person involved in a shooting incident on Easter Sunday in Central Lubbock.

Police responded to the 1900 block of 36th Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

At the scene, officers discovered Johnny Bermea, 36, Jeremy Bermea, 33, and Jose Lopez, 48, all suffering from gunshot wounds.

Johnny and Jeremy were transported to University Medical Center by EMS, where they succumbed to their injuries.

Lopez was also conveyed to UMC with severe injuries. LPD indicated that there was a “domestic disturbance” at a separate location, which culminated in a shooting in the 1900 block of 36th Street.

The Lubbock Police characterized the shooting as an “isolated incident,” assuring there was no immediate danger to the public.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
