Hoax active shooter alert at Bucknell University in Lewisburg

The campus of Bucknell University is no longer on lockdown after reports of an active shooter.

The alert for an active shooter on the Bucknell University campus has been resolved as of Friday evening.

Bucknell University issued a subsequent alert around 7:34 p.m. confirming the end of the emergency situation.

According to Mike Ferlazzo, Director of Bucknell Media Relations, the incident was determined to be a hoax originating from Virginia, as per the state police investigation.

Reports of an active shooter surfaced around 6:30 p.m., prompting the university to issue an emergency alert advising students and faculty to seek shelter.

Emergency units were deployed in response to the situation.
