All Baltimore Bridge Collapse Victims identified
Authorities has just called off the search and rescue mission in the cargo ship disaster.
After the bridge collapse, it was reported that eight workers were tasked with maintaining the structure, but currently, six remain unaccounted for.
Among them are two individuals from Mexico, two from Guatemala, one from El Salvador, and one from Honduras.
Two of the missing victims have been identified as Maynor Yassir Suazo Sandoval, aged 30, from Honduras, and Miguel Luna, aged 49, from El Salvador.
Additionally, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, further information about the remaining workers includes Carlos and Julio from Mexico, as well as Jose and Dorlian Castillo Cabrera from Guatemala. They hail from the municipalities of Camotán, Chiquimula, and San Luis, Petén, respectively.
Maynor Yassir Suazo Sandoval, originally from Santa Barbara, tragically lost his life following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, which occurred after being struck by a large ship.
Suazo Sandoval had pursued the “American Dream” to improve his quality of life and had successfully established his own company.
He was a devout individual, an entrepreneur, and a devoted fan of the Motagua Sports Club.
Reports received by his family, both in the United States and in Danlí, suggest that the ship experienced electrical failures, leading to a loss of control and subsequent collision with the bridge in Baltimore in the early hours of Tuesday, March 26, where Suazo Sandoval was employed.
The family members of the deceased have initiated the necessary procedures to repatriate his remains to Honduras.
