Murder Charges Filed Against 53-Year-Old Larry Lamont Hawkins in Killeen Shooting of Deante Treshawn Hawkins

Larry Lamont Hawkins, aged 53, faces murder charges in connection with the weekend’s fatal shooting of Deante Treshawn Hawkins.

Associate Judge Randy Dale arraigned Hawkins, setting his bond at $150,000. Currently held in Bell County Jail, Hawkins’s booking photo has not yet been released.

The Killeen Police Department responded to a shooting report around 7:53 p.m. on March 23 in the 3500 block of Rusack Drive.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered Deante Treshawn Hawkins inside a residence, having sustained gunshot wounds.

Killeen police officers administered life-saving measures to the individual on-site until Killeen EMS arrived and took over.

Despite their efforts, the victim passed away from their injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace James at 8:38 p.m. on Saturday.

Larry Lamont Hawkins was apprehended at the residence.
