27-year-old Jasyri Armon arrested for the shooting death of 29-year-old Elzy Cyprian in Lafayette Parish

Update: Jasyri Armon, aged 27 from St. Martinville, has been apprehended by investigators. Armon has been incarcerated at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a warrant for second-degree murder.

The victim in this case has been identified as Elzy James Cyprian, aged 29 from Carencro.

A fatal shooting occurred in Lafayette on Sunday morning, as reported by the Lafayette Police Department.

Authorities responded to the 100 block of Harrison Drive following reports of a shooting around 4:24 a.m.

Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered that the victim had been transported to a nearby hospital by private means before their arrival.

Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

LPD investigators are currently at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
