18-year-old Jayrick Washington killed in road rage shooting on North I-110 in Baton Rouge

The Baton Rouge Police Department is looking into the death of a man who was shot while in his vehicle on Saturday, March 23.

Identified as Jayrick Washington, 18, the victim was fatally wounded around 12:45 p.m. on North I-110 near the Fuqua Street exit ramp.

According to reports, two vehicles were observed near North I-10 and Dalrymple Drive, maneuvering through traffic.

Upon reaching the Fuqua exit ramp on North I-110, multiple gunshots were discharged.

Washington’s vehicle crashed as a result, and the perpetrator(s) fled the scene.

He was pronounced dead on-site, as per authorities.

Police suspect the shooting may have been motivated by road rage.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
