2 persons killed after a shooting in Mount Vernon
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their families.
Mount Vernon Police Department Detectives are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Tuesday morning.
On March 19, 2024, at around 12:15 a.m., Mount Vernon Police units were dispatched to 137 S. Fifth Ave. in response to reports of gunshots.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was rushed to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to injuries later on.
The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
